Once you start turning the pages of this book, you won't want to stop as you immerse yourself in thirty-six stories that captivate the feelings of being so young and energetic and enamored with one of the greatest outdoor camps in the world.

These personal stories, drawn from a fifty-year period of Women Rangers at Philmont Scout Ranch beginning in 1972, bring Philmont intensely alive. Each story conveys you back in time as if it were yesterday as you recount your own days among the silvery sage, the whispering pines and the starlit skies above.

The first part of the book is a curated collection of written stories submitted by Women Rangers in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Women Rangers, divided into chapters on the early decades, middle decades and a new century. The second half of the book highlights a series of zoom interviews done as part of the Women Ranger Digital Stories Initiative. It features both personal and mother-daughter reflections.

Lastly at the end of the book is a chart depicting "Six Degrees of Connection" spanning the years 1972 to 2021. The chart illustrates how closely connected Women Rangers are to our past icons and to recent women leaders. With their timeless themes, the personal stories captured for this book weave us even closer as a cohesive community, proud of our Philmont roots and the Women Rangers legacy.
